Michael Jordan lashes onto abuse Stephen A. Smith in strong defense of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s MVP contention
Stephen A. Smith, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Michael Jordan
Stephen A. Smith is the most straightforward and brutally honest analyst the television has seen and he has proved it many times as he isn’t afraid of anyone when he says what he wants to. Recently, he made it to the headlines as he received a text from the G.O.A.T Michael Jordan himself. In the text, Michael Jordan revealed his pick for the 2021-22 NBA MVP award. He was angry with Stephen A. Smith as he had a different perspective and take on the award. The regular season is about to end and with the approaching playoffs the league will soon be announcing all the awards but this year the curiosity for the MVP award is high. As it includes many names which are closely competing for it.
The top three favorite players for the award are Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid. Giannis Antetokounmpo though is the most notable and deserving candidate for the award as even Michael Jordan has him backed up to walk home with it. Giannis Antetokounmpo this season is also in the race for the scoring title. As of now he is just a bit behind Joel Embiid and LeBron James but has the most chances to get his hands on it and become the only player other than Michael Jordan to win the MVP, DPOY, Finals MVP, and a scoring title.
This season Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 29.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1 steal, and 1.4 blocks per game. Currently, under his leadership, the Milwaukee Bucks are ranked as the third seed while being tied with the second seed for the record of 49 wins and 30 losses at .620. He really has nothing left to prove and now with Stephen A. Smith revealing the G.O.A.T backing him up, he is right up there as the best player in the league.
Stephen A. Smith reveals Michael Jordan backing up Giannis Antetokounmpo for the MVP Award
Stephen A. sitting alongside Magic Johnson and discussing the MVP award with the candidates favorite to walk home with it quoted: “There’s another Hall of Famer who’s one of the great players that ever played this game. That has similar initials to yours (Magic Johnson). That text me yesterday [and] was talking about, I’m wrong. Be it on First Take though. I mean, he just calls and cusses me out. But that’s okay, that’s okay, all right. We won’t, we’ll remain nameless.”
The chances for Giannis Antetokounmpo to walk away with the award are fairly good enough. But the competition remains close and nothing can be said as of now since it totally depends on the performance the superstar puts up and the votes he gets. But Michael Jordan backing him up surely changes the opinions of many voters as the G.O.A.T can’t be wrong.
