“Might be the King but not on my turf” Lakers owner Jeanie Buss ‘Stood Up’ to LeBron James over eyebrow raising All-Star comments

The Los Angeles Lakers have been enduring one of the their most painful season in modern-day NBA. The pain of which, is evident on the faces of everyone attached with the franchise, be it owner Jeanie Buss or marquee player LeBron James. Looking like a scenario where the purple and gold army may very well not qualify for the playoffs, it seems like the tussle within the organisation has begun.
There is no doubt that LeBron James was more than happy to return back to his hometown, Cleveland during the All-Star break. Now, with the king getting ever so excited, he perhaps went a little too far. With LeBron returning back to Hollywood, the sufferings only went onto increase. Moreover, it wasn’t something owner Jeanie Buss could sustain to watch, as she decided to walk out during the painful Pelicans embarrassment.

Jeanie Buss shuts down LeBron James

NBA personality Bill Simmons, who’s often plugged in on the happenings around the league, spoke out on the Lakers’ current situation on the latest episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast. He first sounded off on LeBron James over his several eyebrow-raising statements during All-Star Weekend that hinted towards his personal frustrations and ultimately undermined the Lakers organization for underachieving.

However, it’s hard to imagine LeBron’s fingerprints weren’t all over their decision-making process in the offseason, particularly their splashy acquisition of Russell Westbrook that used up any remaining trade powder the team had for future moves.
“LeBron spent all of All-Star weekend putting stuff out there. Floating Sam Presti, floating the ‘I’m only going to play when Bronny James is coming to the league. I am playing with him That’s how you get me to your team.’ Floating some third party stuff that they then denied after about how they had tried to facilitate these Westbrook trades. They were unhappy and taking no accountability for any of it.”
That being said, it seems like the Lakers are digging themselves in a deeper hole day-by-day. Will they be able to come out or this season has more humiliation and controversy surrounding the purple and gold army, to follow? Remains to be seen.
