Kobe Bryant was one of the greatest players alive and it seems like his tenure in the league started much before he could even walk. Being one of the most influential players, he worked tirelessly to craft his game to become better than everyone around him. Many players have shaped their skills under the guidance of the late Los Angeles Lakers legend.
On January 26, 2020, Kobe Bryant lost his life in an unfortunate helicopter crash. Besides Kobe, eight others lost their lives as well including his 13-year old daughter Gianna Bryant. The Black Mamba was a huge supporter of women in sports and coached his daughter’s AAU basketball team. He posed as a mentor for WNBA as well as NBA players after retirement.

During the 70s and 80s, the Los Angeles Lakers were one of the hottest teams in the league. The Lakers feature two of the biggest names in the history of basketball Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. An HBO series called Winning Time: Rise of the Lakers Dynasty speaks about the Lakers’ dominance during that era and how they became one of the biggest franchises in the history of the NBA and the field of sports.
One of their most recent episodes, it features the debut game of Magic with the Lakers during the 1979-80 season. The team in purple and gold was paired against the San Diego Clippers which happened to have Kobe’s father, Joe ”Jellybean” Bryant on the foster as a forward. A small clip showed an infant Kobe who was born a little over a year before in August 1978. There is no solid evidence supporting his presence in real life but this was a beautiful tribute to the Late Laker legend.
Kobe Bryant makes a mark in the history books of the NBA
Kobe Bryant became one of the all-time leading scorers finishing his career with 33,643 points. He averaged 25 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game shooting 44.7% from the field. He starred for almost 1,346 games throughout his NBA career and became an 18-time All-Star.
Bryant was drafted 13th overall during the 1996 draft and was initially selected by the Charlotte Hornets He paired up with many greatest during his entire career like Shaquille O’Neal, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash, and many more. He won three championships with Shaq between 2000 and 2002. The former league MVP was inducted into the all-time 75 players list this year. Fans of the legend were emotional over the surprising feature in the HBO series.
