Joel Embiid is a new big man who is dominating the NBA in scoring while he also believes the league is now highly impacted by tall players like Nikola Jokic, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and himself. There is no doubt that the 7’1 Sixer’s center is having an exceptional season this year and is leading the list of NBA MVPs of 2021-22 season but praising his rivals has also brought him more appreciation for his sportsman spirit.
On Monday night the Sixers defeated the Bulls where Joel Embiid played a key role and scored 43 points with this, they are now the second-best team in the eastern conference. In the postgame interview, when he came out to talk about the game someone asked him about the Nikola Jokic performance this season to which Embiid replied:
“From big man to big man, I’m happy that when you look at who the best players really are, it’s really big men. Whether it’s Giannis, him, Jokic, KD’s not a big, but he’s 7 feet, there’s also foreign are really taking over, Luka, I mean it’s great for us.”
Joel Embiid reserves high praise for fellow MVP candidate Nikola Jokic
Embiid in his interview highlighted how the Joker performed a great knock of 46-point against the New Orleans Pelicans which was continued after the game against the Golden State Warriors with another 32-point. Both Embiid and Jokic are in the MVP race and the top situation keeps fluctuating between them in the list, but this doesn’t stop Embiid to acknowledge the Nuggets star center.
Embiid added, “He’s an amazing player, he’s a monster, I mean, I saw what he was able to do last night, I was watching the game actually, like I’m always watching every game. But he’s a monster, what he’s able to do on the basketball floor, it’s really crazy.”
Since James Harden has joined the Sixers campaign, he has become a new asset for them, he is making the plays for Joel Embiid and as the season proceeds further the duo will continue their performance and Embiid’s position for MVP will become stronger.
