“MVP is cooked guys, Nikola Jokic won, it’s over, the media sucks!” NBA Twitter reacts as journalist votes suggest Joel Embiid losing out on MVP accolade

Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid
The fights over Nikola Jokic or Joel Embiid winning the MVP this year are getting bigger and bigger, and the fire seems to have covered the entire NBA Twitter, which now finds itself in a mix of reactions coming from supporters of different players, who believe that their favourite player should’ve won the MVP and not Jokic, as the initial votings by the media suggest. With a multiple of people giving a plethora of reasons in order to justify why their favourite player is better than the other contenders, some people have taken a specific disliking to the hatred of media towards “The Process”.

Joel Embiid also known as the process once stated that, “They hate the process”, and his statement might now be coming true as the media doesn’t seem to favour him in order to get him the NBA MVP for this season at all. The man who singlehandedly carried him to a high position in the Eastern Conference table even in the absence of some of his most important teammates was discredited of his achievements just because James Harden joined the 76ers towards the end of the regular season, and that doesn’t sit very well with his fans or anyone else in general.

The debate now comes down to assertions and reasons of who between Jokic and Embiid is more important to their respective teams.
The debate now seems to be boiling more and more after the media showed their clear “hatred” for Embiid and favoured Jokic over him for reasons which some feel are valid, and the others feel don’t make any sense. Let us assess both the sides of this debate and find out what people on twitter had to say about the MVP situation in general.
NBA Fans furious at the media for choosing Nikola Jokic over Joel Embiid

A twitter user pointed out that the confirmed ballots for the MVP this year, which were voted on to by people in the media, the analysts and the pundits had almost all favoured Nikola Jokic over Giannis Antetokounmpo and specifically Joel Embiid. With most of the people not having any problem with the ousting of Giannis, they are specifically mad about Embiid not being chosen, and the reasons for these are many.
People who supported the vote for Jokic stated that Embiid had played with a better team throughout the season, and his absence from the squad didn’t really have much impact on the performance of the team, whereas Jokic played the entire season without two of his most important teammates, Jamal Murry and Kevin Porter Jr., highlighting that without him, the team Nuggets wouldn’t be able to do anything or be in the position that they are in right now.

For the people who feel that Embiid should’ve won the MVP this year, they have a multitude of reasons to, the first few being the counter answers toa allegations laid down by the other side, stating that the 76ers are a G-League team in the absence of Embiid and that the onset of Harden only happened in the past 15-20 games, and Embiid had to carry the team on his shoulders almost singlehandedly for the entire season.
The other reasons being that giving the MVP award to a player from the #6seeded team would be absolutely ridiculous over giving it to a player from the #2 seeded team. While Embiid leads in the scoring department and the defensive stats department, Jokic tends to have better ball handling over him.
Even in the presence of two sides from extreme ends, there are people who believe that there isn’t a lot of difference between the stats and the performance put up by these players in the entire year, the arguments of someone having a better teammate and someone being from a 6th seeded teams are the only ones that can be argued upon, and that is the end of it. Therefore, such debates are bound to occur in the coming few days, and the fire doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon.
