“My Faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ Got In the Way of Me Refereeing” Ex-NBA Referee Ken Mauer stands firm on his commitment to remain unvaccinated

Ken Mauer, the second longest serving official/referee in the NBA just had “ex” added to his designation as he was fired from the NBA for refusing to take the vaccine against the Coronavirus disease. Mauer, who was set to become the longest serving official in the NBA after his 36 years of service to the NBA had plenty of things to say in his reaction to the vaccine fiasco which has engulfed a lot many people in and around the league for having different thoughts and opinions about it. The vaccine fiasco still remains unsolved as it creates big headlines in the league dedicated to basketball which shouldn’t be the political playground at this point in time.

As per what was said by Ken Mauer in his conversation with The Blaze’s Jason Whitlock, it seemed as Mauer would still remain firm on his decision to remain unvaccinated due to his “religious beliefs” which come in his way of wanting to get vaccinated due to the rules and regulations set by the NBA. With a  multitude of topics being discussed in the conversation between them both, a certain irony seems to spill out in Ken Mauer’s statements as it doesn’t really align well with Pope Francis’ requests asking people all around to get vaccinated calling it a “moral obligation”.

Let us get into the depth of this issue and explore the vaccine fiasco that is taking over the NBA a little more with plenty of people having plenty of political opinions about this issue, which seem to be clashing with the basic goal that they’re there in the league for, playing or conduction games, which stays on top of everything else, no matter what the political opinion may be.

Ken Mauer seemed to be firm in his opinions regarding the vaccine which stopped him from getting him as It also resulted in him being fired from the sport to which he devoted his life, and that to only in one organization that is the NBA. Ken joined the NBA as an official in 1986 which means that he served for 36 years before getting fired due to his very “faith and belief”.

Mauer suggested that his reason to not get the vaccine was aligned with his religious faith as according to his “own research” the vaccine also contained “dead fetus” which is something any religious person like him would avoid at any cost and therefore not only was Mauer, but also people with similar opinions fired from the NBA. The fact in this issue is that the “aborted” fetus claim has been denied by Medical Experts all around the world who have actually done some credible research and haven’t limited it to googling or getting stuff out of Facebook.

Even when Pope Francis made a statement in which he said that all Catholics should take the vaccine against coronavirus because it was their “moral obligation” which is something that also applies to lifelong Catholics like Ken Mauer, people choose to remain in darkness while also spreading lies, which tends to hamper other peoples’ decision of getting vaccinated against the fatal virus.

According to Mauer, 19 out of 73 NBA officials were initially resistant to get the vaccine due to the very exact reason, but at the end, their union had to give into the demands of the league which asked them to get vaccinated. In a controversial decision that only the officials and not the players are required to get vaccinated, Mauer along with 3 other referees was the only referee in the NBA to not get the jabs.

Ken Mauer also seemed to highlight his support to the Truckers’ Protest in Canada which is against a similar issue of vaccine mandates and said, “I will never ever question what a trucker charges me to ship something again in my life. I’m so proud of them”. Ken was also about to become the longest serving official in the NBA, which was used to seeing the familiar face of Ken all the time, but that issue now remains in doubt and contention due to his rigid stance of not getting vaccinated, which is derived from his “own research”
