“Never disrespect an All-Star” Zach LaVine avenges Stephen Curry by delivering a nasty blow on Marcus Smart’s teeth

Marcus Smart once again makes the headlines after the incident with the Golden State Warriors. On March 16th, Smart was involved in a play that really attracted controversy over himself. The play saw him dive for a loose ball and into Stephen Curry’s ankle, therefore, injuring him out of the game. Immediately after that had happened, he tried blocking Klay Thompson during a layup with a dropkick.

Curry suffered from a very serious ankle sprain costing the rest of the regular season. The Boston Celtics beat the Warriors by 22-points and have been on a hot run ever since. The Warriors on the other hand have not played well since the player’s injury. Curry will be re-evaluated soon in hopes of being able to lead the team during the post-season.

The Celtics took complete charge over the horrible slump the Chicago Bulls have been in since last month. The starting lineup of the Bulls was not able to produce well during the first quarter and continued in the same fashion throughout the game. Chicago only shot 7 of 23 attempts from the three-point range. Boston played much better defense with 11 steaks and 6 assists during the game.

Jaylen Brown once again helped the Celtics win (117-94) finishing with 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. But Jayson Tatum and Al Horford concluded double-doubles. Tatum had 10 rebounds and 8 assists with 16 points. Marcus Smart only played 26 minutes and scored 9 points and 6 assists. DeMar DeRozan was the only player with more than 15 points on the Bulls roster. Zach LaVine had 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists on 2 of 9 shooting.

Unlike the very questionable play against the Warriors, Smart Marcus played wisely by trying to impose his defensive presence by simply squaring up against LaVine to draw the charge. Zach would bump into Smart as he tried a side step while maneuvering through the defense. The offensive foul call was announced shortly after.

The Bulls are currently the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference after only winning two of their last five games. They have a record of 45 wins and 35 losses. The Celtics became the second team out of the East to win 50 games this season. They are the 2nd seed just two games behind the top position.
