“20 & 20 is 40” – Shaquille O’Neal goes SAVAGE on Dillon Brooks after LeBron James’ historic game
Shaquille O'Neal believes Dillon Brooks got what he asked for as LeBron dropped a 20-20 performance in the Lakers win
LeBron James
Shaquille O’Neal roasts Dillon Brooks for his comments on LeBron James after the Los Angeles Lakers legend has a career night. The Los Angeles Lakers took game 4 in overtime to go up 3-1 against the Memphis Grizzlies in an entertaining game. Dillon Brooks was matched against LeBron for the game-ending bucket and got scored on while fouling him.
Shaq appeared on NBA on TNT and gave D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves their flowers for their clutch shots, saying – “Reaves and D’Angelo hit some timely shots… if I’m Anthony Davis thanking those two tonight.” Reaves and Russell combined for 40 points as Anthony Davis has an off-night shooting the ball going 4/13 from the field.
Shaq also took a jab at Brooks by saying – “LeBron had 20-20, Dillon Brooks said he doesn’t respect anybody until they get 40. 20 & 20 is 40.” Ernie Johnson laughed at Shaq’s comments as the Big Diesel did not hold back. LeBron James recorded a playoff-career-high 20 rebounds to go with his 22 points. James also had seven assists on the night with just one turnover to cap a masterful display.
LeBron James is the first Laker with a 20-20 playoff game since Shaquille O’Neal
The Lakers won game 1 in Memphis and stole home court in the first game, and despite dropping game 2, they did not let it slip in LA. James became the oldest NBA player to record a 20-point, 20-rebound game last night as he continues to break records in his 20th season. The 38-year-old joined the elite Laker company, breaking Shaq’s feat that stood since 2004.
However, Shaquille O’Neal has 13 such games as a 7-foot-tall center who dominated the board in his era. LeBron James got his own Miami Heat playoff points record broken by Jimmy Butler hours before the Lakers played and decided to make another record himself. Butler dropped 56 points against the Milwaukee Bucks in game 4 to achieve the most points in Miami Heat franchise history.
The Kid from Akron has never lost a playoff series after going 3-1 up, and after last night’s performance, the Lakers look primed to close it out in Memphis. Despite an off-night from Anthony Davis, the Lakers trade deadline acquisition of D’Angelo Russell came up clutch with nine straight points in the 4th quarter to give LA the lead with just under four minutes to play. LeBron James closed it out with his clutch bucket in overtime to cap off a historic night at the crypto.com arena.
