Larry Bird and Magic Johnson
Larry Bird is regarded as one of the finest players in history. Bird is the same basketball star who helped the Boston Celtics win three NBA titles in the 1980, as an honour the trophy given to the MVP from the eastern conference is named after this man. He’s also an infamous Trash talker something former NBA champion Byron Scott talks about in one of his podcasts

Scott discusses Larry Bird’s trash talk game with Robert Horry on a recent edition of “The Byron Scott Podcast.” He even referred to Celtics star Larry Bird as the “King of Trash Talks.” He said that Bird will divulge his plan to his defender, who will be powerless to stop him.

Bird is widely considered as one of the best basketball players of all time, having earned the nicknames “the Hick from French Lick” and “Larry Legend.” Bird is the first player in NBA history to have been named Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player, Finals MVP, All-Star MVP, Coach of the Year, and Executive of the Year all in the same season. The trophy given to MVP from eastern conference each year is also named after Larry Bird.
Larry Bird was crowned the NBA’s MVP in 1983-84 after averaging 24.2 points, 10.1 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. In the playoffs, the Celtics avenged their previous year’s setback to the Bucks by winning the Conference Finals in five games to go to the Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers in which Boston won back-to-back games, and the series in seven games. Bird was awarded Finals MVP after averaging 27.4 points per game, 14 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.
As For Byron Scott, During the Los Angeles Lakers’ Showtime period in the 1980s, he won three NBA titles. In 2008, he was elected NBA Coach of the Year while coaching the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans). His other titles include a FIBA Eurostar (1997) and was part of the NBA all-star rookie team in 1984

“The thing I love about him is that he was a s**t talker,” Scott said. “The dude would just tell you where he’s going, shoot it in your face, talk s**t to you and run back down the floor. He was the biggest s**t talker in the league back in the day. He would tell you exactly where he was going, what he was gonna do. And he did that to us in the Finals. “He was like, ‘Guys, don’t worry about it. I’m gonna go right over there to the corner. I’m gonna catch the ball, I’m gonna shoot it and there ain’t s**t y’all can’t do about it.’ And he did exactly that.”
For these reasons Larry Bird is a legendary slanderer but that’s not all, in 1986, he told the media that he would play left-handed for three quarters against the Portland Trail Blazers, which became one of his famous anecdotes. He finished with 47 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists after scoring 27 points left-handed. He also converted the game-winning shot five minutes later after sending the game into overtime.
