Draymond Green predicts the Lakers to take the series against the Nuggets
Basketball fans are anticipating the Western Conference finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets with eagerness. The Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green shared his thoughts on the key factors that will decide how the series turns out.
In a recent episode of his podcast, “The Draymond Green Show,” Green discussed the crucial matchup between Lakers’ forward Anthony Davis and Nuggets’ center Nikola Jokic. Green believes that Jokic’s ability to move around the court and pull Davis away from the rim will be a significant factor in the series. However, Green thinks that the Lakers have to limit Jokic’s offensive capabilities by stopping him from getting assists or scoring.
“The [Anthony Davis]-[Nikola Jokic] matchup will be key. I think Joker being able to pull AD away from the rim is going to be a real thing,” Green said. “It is going to be on the Lakers to, either stop Joker from passing or stop him from scoring, The easier one to do is stop him from getting assists. You can’t allow him to get both. He gets both, you lose. It’s very simple.
He added, “It’ll be a good series, Ultimately, Denver is ready, man. I think Denver is ready, like Denver is taking that next step, they’re doing it, we’re watching it … but I think we’re going to have a rerun of 2020. And I think the Lakers will take it. I got the Lakers and I got the Lakers in 6. Closing out at home in six.”
Green has great hopes for the Nuggets, but he believes the Lakers will ultimately prevail in the series in six games and move on to the NBA Finals to face the Miami Heat once more.

Lakers aim to repeat as Western Conference champions
The Lakers are into the Western Conference finals following a strong performance against the Golden State Warriors in the semifinals. The Lakers are doing great on defense, and LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been playing at an extraordinarily high level.
But one should not undervalue Nuggets. They defeated a formidable Phoenix Suns side in these playoffs, with Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic playing some of their finest basketball ever.
The Lakers will need to continue to rely on their defense, particularly their ability to limit Jokic’s offensive output if they want to repeat as Western Conference champions. And while the Lakers’ offense has been good, there is room for improvement, particularly from the role players like Dennis Schroder and Rui Hachimura.
Ultimately, the Lakers will need to bring their best effort to the series against the Nuggets. Still, with LeBron James leading the way, they have a good chance of advancing to the NBA Finals and potentially winning the championship.
