A 52-year-old former NBA star named Robert Horry was seen on a TMZ video yelling at a referee, which got him kicked out of his sons’ game. The incident took place in a game between St. Francis High School of La Canada Flintridge, California, and Harvard-Westlake High School of Los Angeles. Christian Horry, his son, plays football for Harvard-Westlake. During the incident seen on camera, Horry started shouting at a referee, “you suck!” before he was eventually led out of the stadium. According to KNBC-TV, police escorted the former Los Angeles Lakers star out of the gym. 

Horry has a history of getting into fights at his son’s basketball games; in August of 2017, he threw multiple punches at a heckler at a game in Los Angeles. TMZ Sports reported that Robert was kicked out of a high school basketball game in Los Angeles on Friday night because he yelled at the refs.

Hey ref, you talking about me? You suck! Oh, you’re mad at me because I said you suck?” he was yelling. Police pulled him out of the gym as well, according to NBC Los Angeles. As per TMZ, the incident happened in the third quarter of a game between Harvard-Westlake and St. Francis when Christian Horry’s kid received his fourth foul.

The NBA player can then be seen leaving while continuing to yell and shout at the referee. As he was leaving, Horry also made a brief visit to speak with Harvard-Westlake coach David Rebibo. The two briefly hugged before Horry left. Horry played in the NBA for 16 years for the Rockets, Suns, Lakers, and Spurs. With the exception of the Suns, he was a part of seven championship teams in total. He is widely considered one of the best clutch players in NBA history.

Robert Horry says that players do not feel happy when their record is broken

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has previously stated that if LeBron James breaks his record, he will be there to cheer and congratulate him. Horry, a seven-time champion, had a very different perspective on the personal record being broken. On the question of records being made so that they could be broken. The NBA Star said that he doesn’t agree with such a narrative. “People always say records are made to be broken. That’s bu****it. Everybody say that ain’t got no damn record,” he said.

Horry added that none of the players want their record to be broken. He also said that he would never like it if a player breaks his record. “You don’t want your record to be broken. You wanna be No. 1 all-time in that situation, so, if someone’s about to break my record, you think I’mma go sit up in the f*****g stands and watch him break my record and be p****d off? No,” Horry said. James is only 117 points behind Jabbar’s 38,387 points.
