“Don’t find the first door and run out” $90 Million Heat GM humiliated LeBron James in front of public and media

LeBron James

LeBron James has always been criticized and trolled for his basketball decisions. Even though the megastar has always done what he wanted to do and made the best decisions he can. As of now he suits up for the Los Angeles Lakers and recently got a contract extension for two years with the team. Now he has officially become a Laker more than he was a heat for. This has brought back a very critical take of Pat Riley on King James on the internet. As the Heat Nation still remembers the departure of LeBron James who left the team after a big loss, to go back to his home Cleveland Cavaliers, and deliver his promise.

Pat Riley was the mastermind behind the league’s very first super-team of LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. As he landed the stars on board during 2010 by making them agree to get on a pay cut so the team can be formed. Not many expected this can be pulled off but Pat Riley got it done and the league was dominated by the Heats’ big three for straight four seasons where they got a trip to NBA Finals in each season but won only two championships. It was all possible because of Pat Riley as he has a stacked resume not only as a coach but also as an executive. So LeBron James bouncing off the team just didn’t age well with him. As he still believes, the team could have added more to history if he stayed.

There were reports claiming that LeBron James didn’t agree for a pay cut to fix the team after their Finals loss against the Spurs and decided to bounce back to Cleveland Cavaliers. He also had an unfilled promise left behind so that move of his is very understandable. But obviously, Pat Riley who now is the President of Operations of the Miami Heat didn’t like it as he lost his super-team with his departure and just before the breakup was officially reported. He went on to criticize the star in a public interview and didn’t hold himself an inch back. As he quoted: “This stuff is hard, And you gotta stay together if you got the guts, don’t find the first door and run out of it. If you have an opportunity…I didn’t come down here 19 years ago for a quick trip to south beach for a sun tan and I don’t think they did either.”

Pat Riley’s dig at Bron is understandable. But honestly, LeBron James did what was right and best for him. So to criticize him for bouncing off while he was a free agent is just unfair. But again he’s in the G.O.A.T conversation and every team in the league wants him on their roster. As his addition can make any team a championship contender since he has the potential to run it all alone and has done the job multiple times.
