“How long have y’all been together?” Adam Lefkoe’s hilarious question about Charles Barkley leaves Shaquille O’Neal speechless
Adam Lefkoe asked Shaquille O'Neal how long he and Charles Barkley had been together, prompting a hilarious reaction from the NBA legend.
Shaquille O’Neal
Perhaps there is no better TV tandem than Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal, who have been the stars of NBA on TNT. They followed a similar professional path after retiring as NBA players to become television hosts. For years, Barkley and Shaq have co-hosted Inside the NBA with Ernie Johnson and Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith. Interestingly, TV host Adam Lefkoe recently startled Shaq with a question regarding him and Barkley during an after-game analysis.
On Tuesday on TNT, Adam asked a question that caught the Los Angeles Lakers legend off guard. Facing Shaq, Adam asked, “You and Chuck’s relationship. How long have y’all been together?” The big man’s reaction was comical, even though all he did was stare at him in silence. As serious as the four-time NBA champion appeared, he took the question in jest. If anything that question suggests, it is the two former NBA greats’ brotherly love.
Despite roasting one other on national television, they have consistently expressed their love and support for one another. Shaq recently spoke about his HBO documentary and admitted to making mistakes. Regardless of his flaws as a human being, Charles Barkley made it a point to express his support for his friend.
Charles Barkley gives his support to his friend Shaquille O’Neal on live TV
In a recent episode of the HBO documentary “Shaq,” the NBA great addressed his biggest life mistakes. He confessed that he had lost control owing to fame and money. As a result, he lost two of the most beautiful ladies in his life, who continue to be his support. While seeing an emotional Shaq, Barkley ensured his friend felt supported. “We all make mistakes, but you are one of the most genuine people, you are one of the most fun people I have ever been around. (In basketball), you are one of the best to ever do it. I love messing with you on the show, I would never fight your big a**,” Barkley said.
They have shared the table for almost two decades now, and the Phoenix Suns’ legend expressed gratitude for having spent a part of his life with a friend like him.“You had an amazing life and I am glad to have shared it with you,” he expressed. With their back-and-forth trash-talking, they’ve been the backbone of the NBA on TNT for a long time. Fortunately, Turner Sports has signed all four hosts to long-term contracts worth up to ten years, so fans can continue to enjoy the show.
