The Chicago Bulls were a force to reckon with in the 90s. Having being led by Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and other stars, Chicago was deemed as a city of champions as they did not know the feeling of losing out, especially in MJ’s prime. NBA Commissioner recently recalled the atmosphere of watching His Airness play at the old Chicago Bulls stadium.

Silver appeared on the Dan Patrick Show and made honest admission about witnessing Michael Jordan play at his own court. He admitted that not only the environment inside the stadium was buzzing with MJ chants but his electrifying style of play made sure fans always were on their feet.

Adam Silver stated, “I remember early days there, the Bulls, you thought you were experiencing something pre-internet everything else that no one else sort of understood. You felt like you were in a special club watching Michael Jordan.”

To those who are not aware, Michael Jordan was already a rookie playing for the Chicago Bulls in the 1984-85 season when Adam Silver arrived at the University of Chicago Law School. Like many living in Windy City during those days, there was no escaping the allure of the skinny kid from North Carolina who captivated the league.

The iconic Chicago Bulls missed the previous three postseasons before Jordan’s rookie campaign. Jordan was still adjusting to the NBA and was backed up by less than stellar teammates at the time. Adam Silver explained, there was already something special brewing with the Bulls, particularly when Jordan played in front of a rabid Chicago Stadium crowd.

How Michael Jordan changed the Chicago Bulls and their image in the league will always be a separate episode. But his contribution the league and making NBA reach different corners of the globe was truly inspirational. Whether he is the GOAT of NBA or not remains to be a subjective issue. Yet his influence on the sport goes beyond description.
