Anthony Davis has finally responded to the trash-talking of Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant. And, he’s a smart man who knows the business. So he is talking after putting the work in and getting the job done. Unlike, the Memphis Grizzlies who’ll now be busy packing their bags for the summer with an early exit from the post-season by the Lakers. Because Anthony Davis and Los Angeles Lakers have won their first-round series against the Grizzlies at 4-2 with a Game 6 blowout win.
Game 6 was supposed to be super competitive and closely contested. But the Los Angeles Lakers taking no chances started building an early lead which turned the match-up into a pretty one-sided game soon. Through the first three quarters, the Lakers were leading against the Grizzlies with 33 points. And, in the second half, they came out to drop 41 points against the 25 points of Grizzlies in the third quarter. Fans didn’t even have to wait for the fourth quarter and already knew who was getting the job done. Anthony Davis and the Lakers advanced to the semifinals with a 40-point blowout dub at 125-85.
Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant were talking-trash throughout the season and they didn’t back any of it. While the Lakers proved that the Grizzlies aren’t fine in the west and finally ended the failed villain arc of Dillon Brooks. As he was trash-talking a little too much and made several unnecessary claims and callouts. Like knocking the Lakers out, calling LeBron James old, and then blaming the media for his portrayal. But just after two-straight losses, he displayed his true colors by ignoring the media. And, after the season-ending blowout loss he fled away even before the media was allowed to enter the locker room.
Anthony Davis and LeBron James though were never bothered by their trash-talking. They had their head down and were putting in the work. And, now it’s their time to shine and Anthony Davis isn’t missing any opportunity. During the game when the result was pretty visible talking into the courtside camera, he yelled: “Ain’t no fun when the rabbit got the gun.”
It is a savage saying people use once the tables are turned and that’s exactly what happened during the Lakers-Grizzlies series. As many were riding with the Grizzlies and they were doing all the sh*t-talking. But Anthony Davis correctly used the saying as the hunters finally got the gun in their hands and they didn’t miss.
Anthony Davis reveals why LeBron James and Lakers ignored Dillon Brooks’ trash-talking
Anthony Davis after advancing to the western conference semifinals revealed why he, LeBron James and other Lakers ignored the noise Dillon Brooks was making. While doing so AD quoted: “People are gonna talk…We just go out and let our game talk and play basketball…If a guy’s constantly talking and you’re not saying nothing back, they’re going to eventually stop. I think that’s what happened.”
In Game 6, D’Angelo Russell led the offensive end and dropped 31 points, 4 assists and 2 rebounds. He was backed by LeBron James (22 points) and Anthony Davis (14 rebounds and 16 points).
AD has been a great reason behind the success of the Lakers, especially, on the defensive end. And, he’ll have to continue being the guy the organization expects him to be. If he wants to have a deep run and a shot at the title. As the Lakers now will be facing the defending champions, Golden State Warriors, or the hungry underdogs, Sacramento Kings.
