Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics are down 0-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals. As they failed to stop Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat in the series opener. And, now have analyst, Jay Williams disappointed with their efforts and approach in the game. Jayson Tatum so far in the postseason has been on a complete rollercoaster ride. As he has recorded some horrible performances and even bagged a historic Game 7. But his performance against the Miami Heat has Jay Williams disappointed.
The game was closely contested and head-to-head except for the third quarter. Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat started an unstoppable offensive rally that had Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics speechless. The Celtics were outscored 46-25 in the third quarter and had a 12-point deficit entering the last twelve minutes of the game. They tried to cut down the lead and land on the winning end but ended up with nothing and just failed efforts. As Miami Heat got the dub at 116-123.
Jay Williams has an interesting take on the Celtics’ loss as he has rightly pointed out some reasons and mistakes which lost them the game. As sitting alongside the crew at ESPN’s, “Get Up” when Jay Williams was asked about Jayson Tatum’s performance he went on to quote: “I love Jayson Tatum. Obviously, there’s a duke brotherhood there. There’s no way in hell he can have four shots in the second half. He is coming after a 51-point Game 7 game at home. The most points scored in NBA history in Game 7.”
Further, Jay Williams added: “He had 18 points in the first quarter and he only gets four shots in the second half. That is alarming, that is disturbing. Cauz this team goes the way Jayson Tatum goes.” The former NBA player isn’t wrong with his take and Jayson Tatum really had a disappointing second half where he went 2-of-4 from the field. Jay Williams even pointed out how Joe Mazulla didn’t call a single timeout during Miami Heat’s 46-25 run in the third quarter.
Can Jayson Tatum and Boston Celtics bounce back in Game 2 against the Heat?

Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics so far in the post-season have been on rollercoasters and they may continue the act against Miami Heat too. But this time they are up against Jimmy Buckets, Himmy Butler or Playoff Jimmy whatever one likes to call him. And, he’s locked in for serious business as in Game 1 he dropped 35 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds.
Jayson Tatum got 30 points but completely disappeared in the second half and that’s a big reason behind the loss for Celtics. The Cs have a better and deep team who’s better than the Heat at shooting, floor placing, and defending. But unfortunately, nothing worked well for them in Game 1 at TD Garden and the Heat team was just better at all aspects of the game.
So now it’s high time for Jayson Tatum to once again humbly be one of the best basketball players in the world. Also, Jaylen Brown has to get going on the offensive end when his partner is having a bad time. Marcus Smart, the former DPOY has to lock Jimmy Butler and the big men of the team have to do a better job in transition as the rebounding end is already good. Joe Mazulla has been a terrific coach throughout the regular season and now when the lights are bright, he has to step up and prove himself instead of giving up. Game 2 is hours away and the Celtics now would be looking for revenge.
