In light of recent events, the Los Angeles Clippers got James Harden on board in a blockbuster trade with the Philadelphia 76ers sending Harden, PJ Tucker, and Filip Petrusev in exchange for Nic Batum, Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, KJ Martin, and multiple draft picks. The MVP finally debuted with the LA Clippers, dropping an impressive performance. It has already been two games into the new NBA season with the new team and James Harden is already feeling the heat as Kendrick Perkins on a segment of “First Take” talks about how dynamics have changed since Harden’s trade drama.
Perkins on the episode of “First Take” along with ESPN’s Stephen A Smith discussed the changes that have occurred with Harden’s arrival to the Clippers. Kendrick Perkins believes that trading James Harden to the Clippers wasn’t exactly necessary as the roster had players to play on all offensive and defensive fronts on the basketball court. Perkins believes that looking at Harden’s previous trade history of jumping teams, it is highly unlikely that MVP will change his ways to co-exist with his current roster’s dynamics, ruling out Harden to be the hero again.
Perkins in the segment of First Take shared his views on James Harden’s trade to the Clippers and said:
When I look at this Clippers team. I feel so bad for my brother Ty Lue. I actually said a prayer for him (…) for what he's about to go through with this situation. He deserves better. When you look at this team, before they traded for James Harden, they weren't missing anything.
The trade drama that took place since the NBA offseason by Harden to get traded to the LA Clippers has done some real damage to the player’s credibility. As Perkins questioned his trade to the Clippers, he also doesn’t seem to believe any reform Harden has promised to do with his new team. This makes it a compulsion for James Harden to do some repairs to his image which has taken a hit. The LA Clippers is James Harden’s fifth team that he has jumped to.
James Harden reacts to his 0-2 start with the Clippers
The Los Angeles Clipper’s newest addition James Harden is now two games into the regular season with his new team and it turns out it isn’t going so well for the team for the time being. Harden’s start with the Clippers is with a 0-2 which was followed by the loss that the Clippers faced against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night. Harden in a media interaction after the Nets game reacted on his 0-2 start with the team when he was asked by the reporters.
James Harden in a reply said that he may need some time to familiarize himself with his new team and sounded very confident when he assured the reporters saying that it’s just two games that they have lost so far with him being on the roster.
He said that he was going to figure something out about this. The former MVP also shed light on the fact that his focus is on just winning and not individual statistics.
