“I mean jeez, how about winning some championships” Analyst slams LeBron James valuing $97 million contract over Lakers

Lebron James
LeBron James has had multiple critics analyse every move he has taken in his career. And recently, Analyst Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo shared his views on how James does not need any more money and is not a good look for him, and that what ultimately matters is the number of rings he has that will define his legacy.

LeBron’s new contract extension made him the highest-paid player ever in NBA history but Russo on ESPN First Take has heavily criticised this move as he believes at the end of his career how much money Bron made won’t be his legacy but the championships he’s won will be what actually matters.“Rich Paul’s gonna pat himself on the back because LeBron James has made more money in his career than Kevin Durant. Who in America cares? I mean jeez, how about winning some championships?”.
He says that instead of the money, LeBron should have taken a pay cut that would have allowed the Lakers to invest in building a team, “Here’s what LeBron should have done. He should have gone to ownership and said, ‘Listen, I’ve been paid a billion dollars. We were awful last year. You do what you have to make our team better and make us a better basketball team, and then I’ll pick up the crumbs after that. I have made a billion dollars, I don’t need any more money.”
Anthony Davis and LeBron James are the Lakers’ last hope

With the Lakers missing the playoffs last year and their lineup being unstable as ever. The Lakers must look on to make some viable changes. Their best hope is to surround Anthony Davis and LeBron James with viable role players to have a good shot at contending for another championship. Rumors of trades for Buddy Hield and Myles Turner were heard but nothing has been confirmed.
And with the Nets looking to trade their point guard Kyrie Irving as the dynamic just did not seem to work, The Lakers picking him up would be a good choice as the pairing of Bron and Irving has worked before and with Anthony Davis. This Big 3 can be a competent championship-contending team all that matters is what the Nets want in exchange for Irving.
