“If you play with the same spark, we are unstoppable” Andre Iguodala caught boosting up Andrew Wiggins in viral video from Game 1
Andrew Wiggins might be the most underrated player on the Golden State Warriors roster this season but they need to find ways to utilize him better. It seems like the team will have to work smarter against the defensively heavier Boston Celtics who is coached by Ime Udoka, one of the smarter coaches in the league. Both teams have the best defensive rating in their respective divisions but the Warriors have what the Celtics do not and it is experience.
Game 1 was a complete shocker after the Dubs were upset in the final quarter of the night. Boston was trailing by 15 points at the end of the third quarter but their defense tightened towards the end cutting the Warriors scoring to 16 points while going on a 17-0 run with under 2 minutes left. As Stephen Curry said, this series will be a “test” to them moving ahead.
Boston Celtics give the Warriors a rare home court Game 1 loss, can Andrew Wiggins respond?
Al Horford became the player of the night for the Boston Celtics during his first ever NBA Finals appearance. Their shooting splits were .506/.512/.813%.
It was a bitter ending for the Warriors after they led throughout the game and fell short towards the end. Curry had 34 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in the game recording 6 three-pointers in the first quarter alone. Klay Thompson just had 15 points through the game but in order for the Dubs to win he must be more consistent and active on offense. Draymond Green had 11 rebounds and 5 assists as the facilitator. Andre Iguodala hypes up Andrew Wiggins during the end of third quarter
Andrew Wiggins’ presence could be more effective if he gets used well on offense besides Curry and Thompson. He was one of the biggest reasons why the Warriors were ahead of the Celtics in the third quarter. He finished the game with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Following the heroic quarter veteran Andre Iguodala was seen talking to Wiggins trying to keep his hot streak alive with some words of encouragement.
The Warriors were struggling with Boston’s strong defense. During a play, the Celtic almost never left room for Golden State to score despite having to rotate the ball as much as they did. GSW will have their redemption this Sunday night once again at the Chase Center after which they will head on the road.
