Golden State Warriors won the Western Conference Title and made it into the NBA finals, Andre Iguodala however, was still pissed about how the ESPN reporter, Kendra Andrews, misquoted Stephen Curry’s words during their Game 5 encounter with Memphis Grizzlies. Stephen Curry leading from the front won the inaugural WC Finals MVP award named after great Magic Johnson and Klay Thompson’s injury has not taken any sting out of his shots, giving Warriors a strong contention for the NBA Title in 2022.

Dallas Mavericks did win game 4 at home, extending the conference finals series for 1 game at least. But the Warriors didn’t waste an opportunity to close the series in front of their home fans as Klay Thompson fired on all cylinders and Stephen Curry was phenomenal in the Conference Finals. The Golden State Warriors are heading back to the NBA Finals for the sixth time in eight seasons. They punched their ticket on Thursday night with a comfortable 120-110 win over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals to win the series, 4-1.

Klay Thompson turned back the clock with his best game of the series, pouring in eight 3-pointers and 32 points to lead the way. Six different Warriors scored in double figures, including Andrew Wiggins, who went for 18 points and 10 rebounds in another strong performance. The Warriors also shot the ball well from downtown, going 14 of 36. Luka Doncic got off to a rough start, but caught fire in the third quarter to lead the Mavericks’ comeback attempt. He finished with 28 points, nine rebounds and six assists in defeat. Spencer Dinwiddie also added 26 points off the bench.

“Not okay to report something half-true” – Andre Iguodala slams ESPN reporter

Golden State Warriors took down the Mavericks 4-1 in the WCF, earning themselves a week’s rest before Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Both Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala have taken this week to become busy with their podcasts. While Draymond tackled Stephen A Smith and modern-day reporting, Andre took on another reporter as well.

Before Game 5 of the Warriors-Memphis series, Kendra Andrews reported that Stephen Curry said the game plan was to ‘Whoop That Trick’, mocking the anthem of the Memphis Grizzlies. But in reality, is exactly the same which turned on against them, and the Grizzlies dance crew made the opposition marquee stars know about it. On the latest episode of the ‘Point Forward’ podcast, hosted by Evan Turner and Andre Iguodala, Andre talked about Stephen Curry using, or rather, not using ‘Whoop That Trick’.

During a timeout in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals, the Grizzlies’ dance crew decided to sing their “Whoop that trick” song right in Curry’s face. The level of disrespect was unreal. Steph Curry knew they got their behinds whooped in this one so he just had to laugh off the incident. Even Draymond Green was having fun with it as he joined in on the chants. However this claim by Iguodala changes a lot of things, if it is indeed true and Steph didn’t say ‘Whoop The Trick’ in the manner Kendra Andrews portrayed it.

Andre Iguodala and the Warrior would want to leave all controversy behind and put their entire focus into the grandest stage of the NBA, the NBA Finals. Its their 6th Finals appearance in 8 seasons, which depicts the extent of the dynasty the Warriors have build over the past decade. Whether Steph used, ‘Whoop That Trick’ or not is uncertain, but Steph and company would certainly want to bring all their tricks to Game 1 of the Finals !
