Recently, On the “Point Forward” podcast, Andre Iguodala and co-host Evan Turner focused on the talks of having a reduced number of games in a particular season. Still, the Warriors forward was not in favor of this thought and wanted the league to be continued with the 82-games schedule itself. The NBA 2022-2023 schedule was out recently, and the Golden State Warriors will face off against LA Lakers in one of the season’s opening games.

Andre feels that the 82-games legacy should be continued. And, it is something which separates boys from the men. Iguodala quoted, “We gonna keep playing 82 games until 3005,” Iguodala said. “We can’t change 82 games. Eighty-two games … there’s a mental side of it. That’s why we talk about rookie wall… 82 games, I do think you know it separates the men from the boys.

Andre Iguodala further on the podcast said, “The bottom of our league is the bar for the bare minimum the NBA player has lowered. I think that needs to change and the part of this is the mental side of it. We’re getting younger and younger, but we had grown ass men playing in the league. I mean, John Stockton miss what 15 games over 20 years.”

Golden State Warriors failed to make it a hat-trick of titles when they won the championship back-to-back in 2017 and 2018. But after two years of trophy drought, they returned strongly and won the championship in the 2021-2022 season, and their head coach Steve Kerr will be itching to get his hands on the trophy again. They also have a well-set combination this season, which can bring them glory. Having the likes of many match-winners like Chef Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Jordon Poole, Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney, etc., in their line-up already makes them a champion team. The form of all players matters equally to the team as they have all been assigned particular roles to be played and they surely have the potential to run it back again.
