The 2022 NBA Final series might have been a close battle between Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors, but it is indeed safe to say, it was nothing but personal for former DPOY Draymond Green. The marquee member of Steve Kerr’s side had to huge backlash in Game 3 when the entire crowd chanted ‘Fu*k Draymond’ as their team took a 2-1 lead. But that is what turned out to be the series-changing factor. 

While Draymond Green came back to his best form in Game 6, not only helping the defensive unit with blocks and steals, he even went onto knocks some shots from downtown as well. This made sure that the Boston Celtics could not cope up with the opposition’s strategy on the offensive end.

With an initial 21-0 run in the first half, the Warriors put day-light between them and their opponents. This made Boston Celtics catch up to their experienced opponents throughout the game. It did seem that the home side could make a return into the contest when they brought the lead down to 6, but Stephen Curry was in no mood to come back on the court again.

While there were highly emotional scenes on the court when the Golden State Warriors won their 4th title in last 8 seasons. However, as Steve Nash’s team got into their party mood entering the locker room, they decided to get onto the backs of the home crowd, in their own backyard.

In a video that went viral, the entire Warriors side could be seen chanting F*ck Draymond chants loud and clear. Will that be a defining moment for the fans at TD garden summarizing the U-Turn in the 2022 NBA Finals. Remains to be a matter of speculation. But at least Draymond Green went against all odds to finally bring back his veteran best in font of thousands of haters. 

Will we witness these two teams contesting for the title in the 2022-23 season? Or was it the last of their respective dynasties? Guess, time will unravel all answers. For now, let’s just congratulate Curry led Warriors.
