The Los Angeles Lakers star player Anthony Davis could potentially be the least reliable player for the team. Fans around the world have had enough of the 6’10 Center, who performs well in one game and then dips. That is exactly what happened in Game 1 and Game 2 of the Warriors vs Lakers Conference Semi-Finals series.
Davis proved to be a game-changer in Game 1, scoring 30 points, five assists, and 25 rebounds, leading the way for the squad. Davis, alongside LeBron James and the remainder of the team, proved efficient in Game 1, but Game 2 has been nothing less than a tragedy.
In the first half of Game 2, Davis had barely scored four points, three turnovers, and three fouls. Davis went 28% FG and almost got injured six times, drawing massive criticism from fans across the world. Davis, throughout this season, hasn’t had a single back-to-back 20+ point performance, highlighting his unreliability. All the Lakers fans who were praying for a Davis show after Game 1 are now disappointed in the player.
Most Pundits said that the only way the Lakers could win the series was if Anthony Davis played as dominantly as he did in Game 1. While that seems to be a far-fetched goal, even scoring some points is a tough task for Davis at this point. Davis scored 11 points in the game, adding four assists and 11 rebounds. He went 5 out of 11 in field goals in total, much lower than what he did in Game 1.
Anthony Davis bashed by NBA Twitter for poor performance in Game 2
Warriors are heading towards a blowout victory, thanks to Davis’ terrible performance, which doesn’t seem to end. Throughout the season, whenever Davis showed hope, he then went on to disappoint the fans in the very next game. That is something that fans don’t expect during such a crucial time in the playoffs and that is precisely what happened.
Fans have taken to Twitter to highlight their disappointment in the Lakers star as they called him different names. While some called his performance “as*”, others made brutal memes out of his stats. It’ll be interesting to see how Davis plans on coming back from this tragic performance if he’s even able to do that. Though one thing is for sure, it will be a hard road for Davis and the Lakers from here on.
