“Everyone did their job except me…” Anthony Davis gets brutally honest on latest defeat against Utah Jazz
Anthony Davis's Los Angeles Lakers are going through an extremely tough spell.

Anthony Davis was supposed to dominate a Utah Jazz team that did not have a proper big man. At least that was the expectation. Davis ended up having a triple-double, but it did not help the Los Angeles Lakers to secure a win.
The Lakers headed into the game without LeBron James who is nursing an ankle injury. So it was quite natural that Davis would be the one to lead the team. The Utah Jazz outfit usually does not instill fear in most NBA teams but their teamwork came out on top.
Davis was just able to shoot 5 of 21 from the field and committed 6 turnovers. This performance even led him to accept his inefficiency during the game and while speaking with reporters, he said:
Everyone did their job except me.... This one's on me.
Davis has made it known that all his teammates did their part properly. It was his job to lead the team well.
The Los Angeles Lakers received a brilliant performance from D’Angelo Russell who put up 39 points, 3 rebounds, and 8 assists. Rui Hachimura, Christian Wood, and Austin Reaves all added at least 15+ points. Davis did end up with 15 points, 15 rebounds, 11 assists, and 4 blocks. But shooting 23.8% from the field and those 6 turnovers ended up favoring the Jazz.
The Utah Jazz had 20+ points from Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson, and Collin Sexton. Moreover, 19 points each were added by John Collins and Keyonte George in their all-around win. The Jazz have the best record in the league this month.
The Lakers and their season is in utter turmoil
The Los Angeles Lakers are 5-12 since winning the In Season Tournament in early December. They lost games against the good as well as mediocre teams and such is the situation that they are mentioned in every possible trade scenario throughout the league. Many analysts have also asked younger players to play better.
As per many, the All-Star duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis are consistently playing well, but the rest of the squad is not contributing enough. All this has led to all the losses, and the performance of the Lakers during the In Season Tournament was all on the shoulders of their two best players.
Had Davis played better, the narrative would have been different. It has been a long time since the rest of the team played well. Hopefully, the Lakers can turn things around soon.
