Anthony Davis, who delivered an outstanding performance in Game 1, had a disappointing showing in Game 2 on Wednesday night. The big man only scored 13 points while shooting a dismal 4 out of 14 from the field. This marked his second-lowest playoff score in a game where he played for 30 minutes or more since Game 1 against the Phoenix Suns in 2021, when he also recorded 13 points on a 5-of-16 shooting.

In an attempt to level the series and recover from their Game 1 loss, the Memphis Grizzlies went up against the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite missing their star player Ja Morant, the Grizzlies were able to secure a 10-point victory, with a final score of 103-93. Throughout the game, the Lakers trailed their opponents and were unable to mount a comeback, ultimately resulting in defeat.

Anthony Davis, who was supposed to work alongside LeBron James to get his team the win, had a lackluster performance. The Grizzlies, who were missing key players Morant, Steven Adams, and Brandon Clarke, managed to defeat the Lakers.

James carried the usual load for the Lakers, but this time it became too much. He topped the scoring for his team with 28 points, three assists, and 12 rebounds. Rui Hachimura scored 20 points in another impressive performance following a career night during Game 1.

After a shaky start, the Grizzlies found their rhythm and took control of the game, thanks to Dillon Brooks’ slam dunk and Desmond Bane’s tough defense. They dominated the first half, leading 59-44. Although the Lakers tried to mount a comeback in the second half, the Grizzlies responded with Jaren Jackson’s scoring and maintained their lead. Their defense helped them secure a 103-93 victory, tying the series 1-1, despite the absence of Ja Morant.

Grizzlies fans rejoiced as their team won, flooding Twitter with brilliant reactions, while Lakers fans were disheartened. Davis was scapegoated in this Lakers game for his terrible performance alongside D’Angelo Russell. In Game 2, the Lakers shot a combined 26% from three-point range, which was nothing but abysmal. Let’s look at the Twitter reactions.

Anthony Davis will need to gear up and perform way better in Game 3 of the playoff series. Fans aren’t going to let go of Davis after a tragic performance like this. He’ll have to pull a miracle to shake this off, and the player will hope that happens in Game 3.
