In 2020, as we all know the whole world was in a pandemic. To fight this virus and finish the ongoing season, The NBA created the NBA Bubble. Where all the members of teams that are qualified to play in the playoffs were kept. The players could not leave until the season was finished.
During this year, The Los Angeles Lakers won a championship after 10 years. Many fans at the time called this a fake championship because it was held in unusual circumstances. Anthony Davis responded to this remark while he appeared as a guest in the Backyard Podcast. He said,
We were running through the league. We were going to win anyways!"
The Lakers star mentioned that that team was 1st in the league that year. They won 12 straight games going to the finals. And that they were not losing games. They had a record of 28-3.
After that the Lakers have not been able to perform the same. The team won the first ever NBA in-season tournament last year. But since then they are not performing on the same level this regular season. They are currently the 9th seed in the Western Conference.
Lakers will wear the Black Mamba Jersey to honor Kobe Bryant
The Los Angeles are honoring the late Kobe Bryant by unveiling his statue outside the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The Lakers legend played for 20 years and won five championships for the organization. He is considered as one of the most influential NBA player in basketball history.

As a tribute, the Lakers will wear the Black Mamba Jersey in the game against The Denver Nuggets on Thursday. The jerseys are specifically designed for Bryant as it has the black mamba print with LA 24 (Bryant’s jersey number).
The Lakers superstar’s statue will be in great company besides Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O’Neal, Magic Johnson, renowned announcer Chick Hearn, Elgin Baylor, and Jerry West
