“That’s on me coach” Anthony Davis takes accountability in Lakers’ FALL to Kings, Darvin Ham reveals from ‘heart to heart’ conversation
Anthony Davis and Darvin Ham
Darvin Ham gave a few insights on his talk with star player Anthony Davis. The Los Angeles Lakers head coach was talking in a post-match conference as the LA Lakers lost to a formidable Sacramento Kings. Apparently, they had a ‘heart-to-heart’ conversation that was quite reassuring for the Lakers head coach.
While talking to the press, Darvin Ham said, referring to Davis, “Had a real good conversation with him after our last game, our last loss. And he just said, ‘I got your back, Coach.’ And that was huge for me being a first-time head coach and having a player of that magnitude just constantly try and do everything you ask him to do and try to set that example for his teammates as well.” His statement came in after the Lakers defeated the Nets 116-103.
Darvin Ham talked highly of Anthony Davis and it looks like he is coming into the zone of his own and the stats are speaking for him. Against the Brooklyn Nets, Davis led the charge as Lakers legend LeBron James was missing due to an injury he suffered recently. Anthony nailed a season-high 37 points and 18 rebounds as the Lakers registered their third win.
Anthony Davis reveals that the team is affected by their campaign run this season
The Los Angeles Lakers have carried out their disastrous run from last season this year. Winning only three out of their thirteen games can be demotivating for any team, especially the one that wanted to make a turnaround this season.
After their loss to the Sacramento Kings, Anthony Davis talked in a press conference where he stated that the team is very much potential but they have dug a hole for themselves. He added that the 2-10 record stresses the locker room, and they will now try and look to put some wins together immediately. He further stated that they need to play something ‘near to perfect’ basketball.
LA Lakers roster is mainly filled out by veterans and mid-level exceptions signings made beyond the contracts of Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Patrick Beverley. Beverley has been playing around the level of one of those veterans’ minimum signings. To improve, the NBA world has always prompted the Lakers to make a trade, but they don’t seem interested in doing one.
