LA Lakers fans seem to finally have something to cheer about and saw their team defeat the OKC Thunder on Monday night. The match, which ended 112-105, helped the Lakers break a 2-game losing streak.

The team has benefited hugely from the return of multiple injured stars in recent days and saw starring performances from the likes of D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Davis. AD finished with 27 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, and also had 2 steals and 2 blocks on the night.

The highlight of the game, however, came in the third quarter, with around 1:49 left on the clock. Davis found himself receiving a pass from Russell and ended up dunking on NBA ROTY contender Chet Holmgren. The dunk brought forth some hilarious responses on Twitter, with some fans asking the 21-year-old prodigy to ‘get his weight up.’

While no fan, even those who support OKC Thunder’s rivals, will be underestimating Chet’s talent, there is little doubt that working on his physicality is something he is simply expected to do, in the coming time.

For Anthony Davis to give his introduction in such a stellar fashion was simply unexpected. The OKC Thunder have been the better team for much of the season despite the fact that the Lakers have already won the one title that was available thus far.

Anthony Davis revealed that he simply yelled in the aftermath of the dunk as he was concerned of a potential technical:

They giving out techs now for saying stuff so I just yell and try to get back on defense.

Regardless, the NBA fraternity also responded with excitement and certainly thought that the moment itself was memorable:

The Lakers are now 20-21 and have produced some memorable wins despite struggling with their Western Conference standings thus far. They still have a long way to go, this season.
