But claiming himself as the face of the league was so far the boldest move by Anthony Edwards. So it’s fair to say that Anthony Edwards really has a good shot at becoming the next face of the league. As the way he’s getting marketed is exactly what guys like LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Kevin Durant did.
Anthony Edwards’ claim of being the next face has sent shockwaves to the NBA world. As the internet like always is debating around it bringing other young guns like JA Morant, Luka Doncic and even Giannis Antetokounmpo into the conversation. It all started during Ant-man’s interview with Complex where he gave out the boldest self-claim to the world while hinting at becoming an All-Star starter in the coming season.

When Anthony Edwards was asked about his chances of becoming the face of the league as Bron and KD’s careers are about to end. He quoted: “Oh yeah, 100 percent. Sure. I mean it comes with time and it comes with work and dedication. I feel like I got all three of those things and I feel like it’s going to take me over the top.” But he stayed humble when asked about his rank among the best players in the league and time required to get into that zone. As replying to it Ant answered: “Yeah for sure. I need another year. After this year, I think I’ll be in the (best player) conversation.”
Anthony Edwards is pretty confident about the plan he has in his mind and it may all work for him. As he has the right dedication and potential to get the job done. Now even the Minnesota Timberwolves have given him the right pieces around to grow as he already has Karl Anthony Towns and now they have landed another monster in the paint, Rudy Gobert. So the team’s future is in really good hands and this time they have chances of winning it all if things work great between the new Big Three of Wolves. Edwards though still has to improve individually to get into that conversation but once he’s in that zone we know he’ll stay and be a superstar in making.
