“They have been talking so much s**t” Anthony Edwards joins Pat Beverley to disrespect Chris Paul, Suns in IG post
Anthony Edwards and Chris Paul
What started off as a huge lead in the regular season ended off as a disaster for the Phoenix Suns and mainly Chris Paul, who is entering into the final years of his career. The Suns had burst onto the scene with outstanding performances with and without an entire roster thus classifying them as potential candidates for winning the title. The team finished with the best record in the league and recorded a franchise-best 64 wins.
During the first round of the playoffs, the New Orleans Pelicans were able to escape an expected sweep mostly because of Devin Booker’s injury but Phoenix still performed well regardless. In the semifinals, the Dallas Mavericks stunned the team led by Luka Doncic and dragged the series to a crucial Game 7. Their offense was not tight enough to helped defeated the Mavs hence resulting in an upset.
Suns stars react to their abysmal loss in Game 7
The Suns had almost no chance of recovery while the Mavericks led by almost 40+ points during the game. Both leaders of the team did not have the expected contributions as was expected. Devin Booker weighed in on the loss saying, “Good old-fashioned a**-whooping, end to end. (His biggest disappointment) Just that we lost. That’s the biggest thing. And the fashion that we did it in. You just have to stand up and be a man about it, accept the loss and move forward.”
Booker had just 11 points shooting 3 of 14 attempts from the field which was one of the worst games he has had in this season. Chris Paul had some words as well, he said, “Just a tough game… All season long we tried to lean on our defense. Tonight our defense wasn’t there, our offense wasn’t there either.” CP3 scored 10 points and Cam Johnson led the team with 12 points coming off the bench. They shot 37.9% from the field and 35.3% from beyond the arc.
Anthony Edwards trolls Suns after Game 7 blowout
The Suns had a lot of criticism headed their way after they exited the playoff race on Sunday. Patrick Beverley also chipped in his take on their defeat on TV saying, “Do guys in the NBA go to sleep early the night before playing the Phoenix Suns? Hell no… I’m going to Steak 44… have me a nice little wine… Steph Curry? I’m going to bed at 8 o’clock. Mon, don’t call me. My girl, don’t call me.” Pat also felt that benching Deandre Ayton caused the team to lose out on any defense power they had.
Minnesota Timberwolves player Anthony Edwards shared a now, deleted story on Instagram calling out the Valley Boys and Chris Paul saying, “I remember we were playing Phoenix. They were talking so much sh**, telling us we better make the playoffs, we ain’t gonna make the playoffs. We outta the playoffs, but y’all, this is a disgrace.”
