The Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards recently agreed to a five-year designated rookie maximum contract extension worth $260 million and was humbled, appreciative, and excited to remain in Minnesota. The amount of money young players are earning today is unbelievable, and when you make that kind of money, you often have people coming after you. Edwards has made it clear that no woman, except his girlfriend, can come anywhere near him after he signed his huge deal.

Edwards put up a story on his Instagram in which he is seen lying down talking to the camera, with his dog and his girlfriend Jeanine Robel in the background.

All you females that think you gonna come up off a n**** from signing a contract, she the only one. She the only one that’s coming up. She new to the table, so I’m a little green for her. Everybody else, the light is the same color as my damn jacket.”

The Timberwolves’ guard knows the amount of blood, sweat, and tears he has given to the game and the sacrifices he has made to get where he is today and hence warding off any kind of distraction is extremely important and it’s great to see the young man setting his priorities straight in life.

Which other players have signed max contracts?

Edwards is the fourth member of his draft class to agree on a max contract extension, joining Indiana’s Tyrese Haliburton, Charlotte’s LaMelo Ball, and Memphis’ Desmond Bane. Safe to say that all four players have thoroughly deserved their huge contracts owing to some stellar play ever since they all entered the league back in 2020.

“Ant-Man” is already a superstar and will look to take the Wolves back to the playoffs next year and make a deep run alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert. Haliburton is a terrific on-ball defender and has improved big time on offense ever since he got traded from the Sacramento Kings to the Indiana Pacers. LaMelo Ball is must-watch TV with his incredible ball handling and passing skills and Desmond Bane is an aggressive scorer who will be looking to take his game to the next level in the coming season.
