“Not true to his word” Anthony Edwards refuses to pay $22,000 after losing a Madden bet to professional

Was Anthony Edwards scammed while playing Madden
Anthony Edwards, regarded as the next big thing in NBA, slamming dunks on top of players, while getting himself slammed in Madden. Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Anthony Edwards looks like he has a bright future ahead of him. But his video game skills could use some work. Edwards has become a household name among the young ballers in the NBA. The player was recruited number one overall during the 2020 NBA draft which was one of the most hyped classes in recent history. The Minnesota Timberwolves saw a star in the making and his presence gave an immediate boost to the team’s numbers.
This season, he was a major part of the Wolves’ success getting them into the playoffs after over a decade of fighting. He averaged 21.3 points along with 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game shooting 44.1% from the field and 35.7% from beyond the arc making 3 per game. Minnesota’s success was very short lived after going 2-4 against the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round.

“Bro this isn’t about me getting the money” – Anthony Edwards snubs the ‘Madden God’

Anthony Edwards has shown bursts of his amazing potential, improving drastically from his rookie year in the NBA. Besides balling out on the court, Edwards likes to play a lot of Madden, and once in 2021 he got mixed into a battle with a professional Madden player, and it didn’t end too well. Youtuber AB Got Game slammed Edwards for not paying him $22,000 after losing out on multiple bets. He said he even had the proof to go along with it.
Professional Madden player and Youtuber ‘AB Got Game’ put Edwards on blast for refusing to pay him $22k after losing a string of video game bets. The Youtuber, who has a video of himself playing against Edwards, said he had video recordings of Edwards admitting and losing the bet. Based on their conversation above, it seems that Edwards did not want to pay off the bet unless Belton granted his rematch demand. Belton also implied in one of his messages that this was not the first time the Timberwolves youngster refused to pay off his lost bets.
AB also admitted that his Tweets and expose weren’t about the money but rather to protect future gamers from getting scammed like this. “Bro this isn’t about me getting the money. I’m tryna save y’all from playing this millionaire pro athlete for money and losing and paying him, even though he prob won’t pay you if he loses.”
The screenshots of their conversations do not help Anthony Edwards case

It’s totally normal to have a healthy fascination for video games, Madden in particular. What Edwards does with his own hard-earned money is also his prerogative. What’s not cool, however, is not paying up when you lose bets. I hope these allegations aren’t true, because if they are, it’s a really bad look for the Timberwolves guard.

The 21-year-old youngster has shown great improvement in his plays and adjusted his style according to the hustle and tussle plays in the NBA. Averaging above 18 points right from his rookie season, Anthony formed an formidable partnership with marquee player – Karl-Anthony Towns for the Timberwolves. Furthermore Ant-Man averages just above 20 points marks in his 2 seasons. Safe to say, Edwards is seen as cornerstone for the team’s upcoming plans.
