Draymond Green has surely made a reputation for himself as one of the most fearsome players in the NBA. The Golden State Warriors veteran has, in this season alone, been involved in three violent altercations, and is currently suspended indefinitely.

Green has already missed 7 NBA games and is currently undergoing counseling in order to get his antics in check. Regardless, things were not always like this. As a matter of fact, the 4-time Champion was once forced into backing off by none other than former LA Lakers star Metta World Peace, known until 2011 as Ron Artest.

During a game between the Warriors and the Lakers in 2006, Artest and Green got into a bit of a scuffle on the edge of the 3-point zone. The Lakers big man was also infamous for a violent streak of his own and had a starring role in the infamous ‘Malice at the Palace’ as well.

Regardless, as Artest got too close for comfort, Green initially swatted his hand off, and shouted the following:

Get off me.

However, Artest was quick to respond and appeared to be on the verge of physically shoving Green. However, he appeared to stop short, and commented the following:

Don’t do that.

This seemed to result in Green simply choosing to walk to the free throw line, as Artest claimed that he was in Draymond Green’s “head.” Of course, in Green’s defense, he was merely 26 years old, going against one of the most fearsome players in the NBA. Something had to give.

After a stint at the Chicago Bulls, Ron Artest arrived at Indiana to play for the Pacers in 2002. In November 2004, in a game against the Detroit Pistons, Artest initially got into a scuffle with Ben Wallace, which led to fouls being called by the referee.

While the initial altercation lasted for just seconds, it had already broken into a scuffle by the time other players got involved. Artest eventually calmed down, but only until a fan threw a paper cup filled with coke on his chest.

This was following Artest trying to get on the scorer’s table to speak on the radio. Regardless, he charged into the fan when the cup was thrown, an act which resulted in a full-blown fight between players and the fans. In what is regarded as the ugliest NBA-related incident of all time, Malice at the Palace resulted in injuries to 9 spectators and several players, as two of the fans had to be taken to the hospital.
