Today, the NBA announced the All-Star reserves lineup. Completing the roster was Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis. After the game against the Boston Celtics, the team went into the locker room. Head coach Darvin Ham announced in front of everyone congratulating Davis on his All-Star selection. This brought out cheers from the entire locker room. But one player wanted to celebrate even further. Only for Davis to stop him.
As soon as Ham announced the news, D’Angelo Russell got up screaming and pointed at teammate Austin Reaves. Reaves was seen holding a bucket with apparently water in it. His motive was to give Davis a water shower celebration. Davis looks at Reaves with his eyes wide out. He was scared to see Reaves holding a bucket of water. The reason to be scared was because Davis was wearing an expensive Louis Vuitton outfit tonight. Davis asked Reaves to spare him the shower because it would damage the outfit.

Of course, Reaves will listen to his superstar teammate. Reaves proceeded to put the bucket down. But, it seems the locker room was intent on drenching Davis for his selection. This is why, Reaves was ready with the bucket the moment coach Ham made the announcement. Davis preferred to keep his outfit safe for which he paid a lot of money.
But, it speaks of the camaraderie in the Lakers locker room. Teammates wanting to celebrate their colleague’s All-Star selection speak of that camaraderie. That is despite the trade talks circulating the Lakers before the trade deadline.
Anthony Davis and an All-Star caliber season
This is the 9th All-Star selection for Davis. He could have made more in his 12 years in the league, if not for injuries and forgetting the rookie year. This is his first selection after missing out in the last two years. He had 8 straight All-Star teams from 2014-2021. Davis also solidified his selection by playing proportionately more games this season so far, compared to previous years.

Davis is averaging 24.9 points, 12.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.3 blocks this season. Good enough for a spot on the reserves this year. A member of the 75 best players in league history, Davis has played well consistently this year.
Anthony Davis has deserved the All-Star selection. If only he did not have the Louis Vuitton outfit, his teammates were ready for that celebratory shower.
