“I promise you. Just gotta stay with us” Austin Rivers hypes up the Timberwolves following victory over #1 seed in the West

The Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off an upset win against the top-seeded Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference playoffs, and Austin Rivers had some strong words after the game. His plea to the fans was to have them keep faith in the team as they slowly move onto greater heights.
Following the thrilling victory, the Timberwolves guard stepped up to the post-game podium and declared,“I promise you. Just gotta stay with us. We got something special here.” Rivers hyped up the Timberwolves and their fanbase with the message that the team is building something special.
Austin Rivers, who has been around bad teams in his career, was not about to let that be the fate of the Timberwolves. After their win over the Nuggets, he spoke up and also said,“It’s hard for me to see with the talent we have here, the competitiveness we have here, I don’t see this getting worse. I really don’t. We’ll be alright.”
His energy following the game was contagious and he made sure to emphasize that he does not believe this Timberwolves team belongs in the category of bad teams. “I don’t see this getting worse. I just don’t,” he said in an attempt to rally everyone together in a time of success. Rivers will surely be happy as the win is in line with his pre-game media scrum message of “enjoying the new year, new us.”
As Rivers pointed out pre-game, these next 10-20 games are very important for the Timberwolves. That is if they are to make inroads into the Western Conference playoff spots. Otherwise, they risk losing too much ground in the playoff race.

Rivers hits dagger three as Timberwolves topple Nuggets

The Minnesota Timberwolves stunned the Denver Nuggets, beating reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and the #1 seed 124-111. Leading the charge was Anthony Edwards. The young wolf showed out in the win with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Edwards out-dueled the Joker in the game and the Wolves ran the Nuggets out of the building.
Rivers, in a very positive mood after the game as mentioned earlier, was also important in the closing stages. With a little under 2 minutes left and Minnesota leading by 8, Jaden McDaniels grabbed an offensive board and kicked the ball out to the corner to Rivers. The shooting guard hit the quick-trigger three to extend the lead to 11 and put it out of Denver’s grasp.
Minnesota has started the year off on the right track but they are still 17-21 and in 11th place. This win really needs to have a snowball effect for the Wolves and be the catalyst to a 2nd half turnaround.
