Carlos Boozer and his NBA career
With the Cleveland Cavaliers, Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers, Carlos Boozer spent 13 seasons in the NBA. The Cavaliers selected Boozer with the 35th overall pick in 2002. From 2004 until 2010, Boozer spent his finest NBA seasons with the Jazz. His strong effort in the postseason helped the Jazz get to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in nine years after he averaged 20.9 points and a career-high 11.7 rebounds per game in 2006-07. Boozer averaged 16.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game throughout the course of his career.
Boozer, a member of the Duke squad that won the NCAA Championship in 2001, guided the Blue Devils to a 95-13 record across his three seasons. In 2002, Boozer won awards for being named All-America, first team All-ACC, and ACC Championship MVP before forgoing his final season of NBA eligibility. Boozer was selected for the NBA All-Star squad in 2007 and 2008, and in 2008, he was named to the All-NBA Third Team. He also competed for two American Olympic Teams, winning a bronze in 2004 and a gold in 2008. He joined ACCN in 2019 to provide studio coverage and commentary of the basketball game and has been working there occasionally.
Boozer and his infidelity with Michelle Money
Michelle Money admitted to having an affair with Carlos Boozer in Salt Lake City in 2009, when he was still a member of the Utah Jazz, in a 2011 edition of Life & Style. Boozer had three children with his wife CeCe at the time, and they were still legally wed. The couple initially filed for divorce in 2009, made an effort at reconciliation a few months later, and then recommenced divorce procedures in August 2010. Although Money acknowledged that what she did was terrible, she stated that but believed Boozer and CeCe’s marriage was done with.
In the article, Money stated: “I should never have been so naïve to assume what I was told was true. I’m not trying to shy away from the fact that he was still married. I don’t put that on Carlos. I don’t put that on anyone but myself.” She also added: “All I can do is try to do better with my life. I screwed up. But I can only try to do the best I can.”
Initially, when he reportedly cheated on her, CeCe and Carlos Boozer split up and got divorced in 2010. They got back together in 2012 and remarried before beginning the divorce process once more in 2015. They have been married for more than eight years and also have three kids together. Michelle Money was even drawn into their contentious divorce, with the woman announcing in court records that she would question the woman under oath about having s*x with her husband. What a mess!
