The Brooklyn Nets’ $35 Million-star, Ben Simmons, who is yet to make his debut for the team seems to never miss out in the offseason to fetch some limelight towards himself. After dealing with mental issues during the initial half of the 2021-22 season, Simmons got his desired trade to Brooklyn but failed to help out us team as they crashed out in the first-round of the playoffs.
After being clean swept via the hands of Boston Celtics, it seems like the management and marquee stars have had enough of one another as former MVP, Kevin Durant requested a way out of the team. On the verge to practically lose all of their big 3 members- James Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in just five months, it seems like Simmons could be handing them with an even bigger blow.
Will Ben Simmons play for Brooklyn Nets in 2022-23 season?
Ben Simmons, who is a 6’11 point guard’s presence in the 2022 Playoffs would indeed have made the Nets much better than they were, even if he wasn’t his 100 per cent. But as he would have it, the man sat out throughout the season. And now, as every superstar in Brooklyn is trying to leave, for some reason, the former Sixers guard who is on his 3rd year of $177 million contract has deactivated his IG account.
However, with all sorts of rumours circulating in the air surrounding Nets marquee stars, it is indeed safe to say that one can partly blame Ben Simmons for these circumstances because The Slim Reaper, still having to kick in on his 4-year $194 million contract, wanted to be in the franchise for a long run and lead it to multiple championships.
Irving’s hesitancy in opting in for his last year $37.9 million contract and his clear intentions of running it back with LeBron James surely would have made Durant make his mind to put in a transfer request as the latest reports suggests that Lakers could spring the greatest 3 ever modern-day scorers alongside one another dawning the purple and gold jersey. Will we witness Simmons too parting his way out and bailing out of the Nets? Remains to be seen.
