James Harden continued to fall into a ridiculous slump every passing game before it was too late. The Philadelphia 76ers were in hopes of making it to the finals this season after acquiring the player to boost the dominance of their existing MVP candidate on the roster. The beard was spectacular during the first five games of his Sixers career averaging over 20 points per game but his effectiveness quickly dropped.

Philly put up a hard fight during the first round of the post-season against the Toronto Raptors. They closed out the series in Game 6 with Joel Embiid leading them. Unfortunately, he was injured during the closeout game and was sidelined for Games 1 and 2. The Miami Heat took an early until he returned back to the floor and win the following games. After a miserable Game 5 and 6, the Heat walked away as finalists last night.

James Harden was acquired in a deal during the February 10 trade deadline and was seen as the missing piece to the 76ers’ puzzle. General Manager Daryl Morey played a big part in this acquisition as both of them were formerly associated when they were with the Houston Rockets. While Harden played with the Brooklyn Nets his role was reduced to a minimum as he was surrounded by two other superstars.

But it seemed like the role reduction may have been an actual slump after signing with Philly. The beard averaged close to 15 points per game towards the end of the regular season. During the closeout game, Harden began on a good note scoring 4 of his 7 attempts from the field inclusive of 5 assists during the first half, but it all stopped right there. He turned over the ball four times and did not score during the second half. He finished with 11 points, 9 assists, and 4 rebounds.

Following the series defeat, Skip Bayless took the moment to call out James Harden for his unreliability. He tweeted saying, “James Harden typically no-showed in the second half of this closeout game. Now he’s mostly just another Jim Harden. Ben Simmons eventually will make this trade look so phoolish for Philly.”

Ben Simmons was sent to the Nets in exchange for Harden to the Sixers. The player suited what Brooklyn needed which was defense. However, he did not play at all this season due to personal issues and a back injury that he sustained during practice with the Nets. The player was caught liking the tweet sent out by the analyst as it attacked the 76ers franchise and James.
