“3 shots not enough” – Ben Simmons talks about his shooting woes after Nets suffer humiliating loss in preseason

Ben Simmons‘ shooting troubles are still showing up during his Brooklyn Nets preseason games. The former Sixers star is self-aware of his problems and addresses the issue in the press conference.
It is very clear that Brooklyn Nets’ new recruit, Ben Simmons still has a long way to go to become his former self. The Nets player recently played in the Brooklyn Nets vs Miami Heat preseason game and it sure wasn’t the comeback the former Philadelphia star would’ve expected.
The star-studded Nets team lost the game after the Heats absolutely dominated the entire game. The game ended in a 109-80 score with the Heat getting the better of Simmons’ side. Simmons got to play 25 mins of game time and it is safe to say he did not deliver his best performance. He scored a total of only 4 points from 3 shots and picked up 10 rebounds and 4 assists.
In the press conference after the Miami Heat game, Ben got honest with the media and addressed the issues he has with shooting the ball. “There’s gotta be balance. Looking at the box score, I took 3 shots, which is definitely not enough,” admitted the Brooklyn star. “I want to get to the post more, get some more touches down low, be more aggressive, get to the rim, get to the free-throw line, which I didn’t do tonight,” added Simmons.

“Give me some time” – Ben Simmons wants the media to ease up with the criticism
This is only Ben Simmons’s second game since his long layoff of more than a year. The player acknowledges his troubles with his game and asks for more time before the media and fans can entirely critique him for his playstyle. One of the biggest reasons for Simmons’ troubles in his former team was his poor shooting form and work ethic.

In the recent press conference after the Heat game, Simmons spoke about the long layoff he has had and requests more time before we all can start judging him. In the first game of the Nets’ preseason, Simmons got to play 19 minutes and scored 6 points with 5 assists and 4 rebounds.
“There’s a lot of things that we can look at. It’s game two and I played 25 minutes. What’d I play in the last game? 12 minutes? It’s been a year. I’m coming back. Give me some time,” said Simmons after giving an honest assessment of his shooting.
