Ben Simmons has become more of a controversy rather than being looked at like a basketball player. The player is one of the strongest defensive players in the entire league and had proven him steal night in and out. However, as strong as his skills make be one defense, his offense does not have the best results on the court.
Simmons struggled during the playoffs last season but has gone on a huge streak of not making free throws. This badly ruined the chances of his Philadelphia 76ers getting through into the final stages of the playoffs thus leading them to an exit. Moving into this year, the outcome and backlash he had received due to his performance.

After the antics of last season, Ben Simmons was a complete no-show this year. The Sixers were very vocal about their need for the player’s presence but Simmons showed no intention of giving his time to them. The player had attended several practice sessions but did not actively take part in them. This also infuriated Head Coach Doc Rivers who eventually kicked the point guard out of practice.
In February, the Sixers had finalized a deal sending him to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for James Harden. The team was able to make it to round two of the playoffs before Harden’s underwhelming performances affected them badly. As for Ben, his debut was underway but was delayed because of a herniated disc. His defensive-oriented playing style was something the Nets felt that would help them pull through in the playoffs but they got swept in the first round.

Ben Simmons has never had the best-looking jump shot and has been criticized for it constantly. An Instagram video featuring Mike Tyson had him shooting a very awkward jumper. “I might’ve had a career in basketball,” he said in the video. The legendary boxer missed the shot by a mile. Fans NBA reacted to the video by relating it to how Simmons shooting the ball. Here are a few reactions.
