He also has two NCAA Titles, an Olympic Gold Medal and multiple individual honors like he’s a member of NBA’s Greatest Ever 25th, 50th and 75th Anniversary teams and the list isn’t just limited to the above mentioned things.
Apart from his on-court and off-court success stories. Bill Russell was also known for his great sense of humor as he was a man who can crack the room up with his jokes. He got one such moment on the stage with other great Big Men of the league like Shaquille O’Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dikembe Mutombo, Alonzo Mourning and David Robinson. During NBA’s first Award Show in 2017, Bill Russell was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award and to honor him with correct respect. Russell though had his competitive spirit on even on the stage as he jokingly mocked them all and said: “Where did they find all these tall people?”

He really could have done that back in his days though his competition against Shaq is very unpredictable. As Shaq is the most dominant force ever seen in the league. But again Bill was also very same as there are reasons for him having more rings than fingers. So a match-up between all these greats would have been an interesting one but unfortunately, since that’s just not possible we’ll have to live without it and believe in our very own takes.
