BREAKING: Miles Bridges pleads not guilty in domestic violence case against Mychelle Johnson
Miles Bridges
Miles Bridges was the leading scorer for Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets in the recently concluded 2021-22 season. While the team could not make it into the playoffs, yet there were expectations from the forward to earn a huge pay-check before the start of the next season. However, his world was changed upside down when his better half, Mychelle Johnson revealed a video on Instagram indicating the domestic violence she has been through in the presence of her kids.
According to Baxter Holmes of ESPN, LA County District Attorney George Gascon stated in a release that the allegations against Miles Bridges indicate that he is responsible for causing ‘great bodily injury’ and notes that his two kids were present at the time of the attack, as per Mychelle Johnson. On the same note, Miles has come forward to plead not guilty against all odds.

As stated by Clutchpoints, “according to the DA’s release, the case ‘includes an allegation of causing great bodily injury on the domestic violence victim.’ The release noted that the children were present for the alleged assault but did not otherwise specify what the child abuse counts stemmed from.”
Johnson was admitted to the hospital and showed an official report showing that she sustained a concussion, a rib contusion, a neck muscle strain and a nasal bone fracture at the hands of her partner.
That being said, if Bridges is indeed found guilty, he could not only face jail time but could very well be suspended from the league for a very long time. Given that fans have witnessed plethora of stars falling out of form after such incidents, Miles Bridges could be of the latest to join the list. However, the Hornets forward was spotted training in a gym earlier this month, and was at least trying to distract himself from this case for the time being. Lastly, following his arrest, he was released on a $130,000 bond.
