“His conditioning is just not there,” Charania reported. “From what I’m told the Pelicans believe he’s not even close to getting back on the floor… There’s no expectation from the Pelicans that he will be on the floor at any point in the first round of the playoffs.”
The Pelicans have managed to secure a spot in the play-in tournament, but their playoff aspirations have taken a hit with Williamson’s absence. The team will need to win two games to secure the eighth seed, and their first challenge was against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
