“Can’t find back-to-back games where Kevin Durant has looked so bad” Stephen A. Smith reveals losing all confidence in Brooklyn Nets
Stephen A. Smith and Kevin Durant
On Friday night, ESPN’s sports analyst Stephen A. Smith revealed that he has started losing his faith in the Brooklyn Nets after seeing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving struggling in round one against the Boston Celtics.
Just like the Lakers, the Nets’ campaign this season also started with a high expectation but the whole Brooklyn squad has failed to stand on those expectations of the fans. Moreover, the Nets in the regular season went through a lot of ups and downs but they still managed to qualify for playoffs by defeating the Cavs in the play-in tournament. As their performance improved before the start of the postseason it was again assumed the Nets are going for a deep playoff run.
But things had not worked in the favor of the Nets and now they are down by two in the series against the Celtics. Meanwhile, after those losses, Stephen A. Smith appeared on ESPN’s first take where he explained why he started losing his confidence in the Brooklyn-based franchise. “I picked the Brooklyn Nets to win this series in seven games,” Smith said. “I’m going down with the ship really, I’m not jumping off my prediction but I have zero confidence zero.”

Stephen A. Smith believes that Net star forward Kevin Durant is playing the worst basketball of his career
Stephen A. Smith can’t believe that slim reaper is facing so much trouble in offense against the Celtics which he talked about and said has never happened and he has never seen KD struggling this much.
“You can’t find him (KD) back-to-back games in his career led alone a playoff series where Kevin Durant has looked as bad it has never happened, he has played over 935 games in his career he has never looked like this.”

Smith later in the show explained that he has never seen Kevin Durant struggling this much in the playoffs. He also pointed out that the Celtics players are getting too physical with Durant and get away from it without any calls from refs. As a consequence, KD has failed to perform in Game 2 and was 0-10 in the second half.
“We’re seeing Jayson Tatum on them one-on-one and defending him (KD) we’re seeing him glitched he can’t handle the pressure we’re seeing him rattled we’re seeing him flummaged in a way that I have never seen.”
