The Cleveland Cavaliers are considered to be one of the most talented young teams in the league. They have drafted multiple solid players, such as Darius Garland and Evan Mobley, who are the centerpieces of their franchise. They are rarely in controversy, but they recently found themselves in one after their head of basketball operations, Koby Altman, was arrested on DUI (Driving Under the Influence) charges.
Altman was arrested on Friday after he was stopped for swerving, changing lanes, and almost causing an accident by nearly hitting another driver. In a video surfacing on the internet, Altman told the police he worked for the Cavaliers and was returning from an overseas trip, after which he just wanted to get home. He refused to take a breathalyzer test after he couldn’t balance himself during a one-leg standing test.
He was then arrested by the police and taken to the police station. His lawyer filed a not-guilty plea in court following his arrest. The Cavaliers organization was asked about the incident, but they released a statement saying that they are aware of the event but have no further comments on it.
NBA Twitter trolls Koby Altman after he gets arrested for DUI
Following the arrest of Cleveland Cavaliers’ President of Basketball Operations, Koby Altman, fans started trolling him for his irresponsible behavior. Altman has been with the Cavaliers for over 11 years now and has been their President of Basketball Operations since 2022.
Fans called him out for not making key signings this offseason, but he is getting drunk and arrested for his behavior. Here are some of the reactions:
The Cavaliers haven’t made any significant changes to their roster this offseason, even though they got eliminated in the first round of the playoffs this past season. They are a young team on a clock because their star player, Donovan Mitchell, doesn’t seem very keen on signing an extension with the organization. Now, Altman getting arrested for DUI and not focusing on improving his roster makes it hard for the Cavs to improve upon their last season.
