Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith pay $1000 to cut off a man’s man-bun LIVE on ‘Inside the NBA’

Charles Barkley is a comedian turned sports analyst, as Charles Barkley and Shaq are known for their theatrics on the show ‘Inside The NBA’. However there was a time when Chuck didn’t have Shaq to fight with, and he was bent on cutting the ‘man bun’ of a crew member on the show. Barkley, also known as “Sir Charles” and the “Round Mound of Rebound” is primarily known as an NBA Hall of Famer from his playing career in Philadelphia with the 76ers(who drafted him out of Auburn), the Phoenix Suns and the Houston Rockets. Barkley was a force on the court at power forward despite being listed at 6′6 .

Sir Charles Barkley lead the Suns to the NBA Finals while winning the MVP award during the regular season that same year, falling short to the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls for the NBA title in 1993. He was a member of and the leading scorer for the original Dream Team basketball team in the Barcelona Summer Olympics in 1992, alongside Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, which resulted in a gold medal. He was named to the NBA’S 50 Greatest Players team in honor of the league’s 50th anniversary. Arguably one of the game’s most charismatic figures, he retired and has gone on to be a one of the sports media’s best and sometimes controversial analysts on NBA on TNT.

“Do you have any last words for your man bun” – Charles Barkley reacts to cutting the crew’s man bun

Charles Barkley is a unique amusing man. Aside from basketball analysis, Charles Barkley and the crew get up to a ton of shenanigans as well while on set. It’s easy to have your eyes glued to the screen and simultaneously being in splits when Kenny is making it rain on a guy after Chuck forces him to cut a part of his hair off, justifying it by saying that a man bun isn’t a thing.

Andy, the stage manager of ‘Inside the NBA on TNT’ came to work sporting a man bun. When he left, he was $1000 wealthier – but immediately needed a trip to a real salon after Charles Barkley chopped off his hair .

“America if you see a friend, just hold them down and cut their damn hair. A man bun is not a thing.” Charles said.

Andy, after losing the bun, offered this assessment “I really hope I didn’t do this for free.”

The Chuckster isn’t the most gentle of barbers, as he cut through poor Andy’s hair while tugging on it with some less than great scissors, but eventually the man bun fell to the floor and Andy collected his money as Kenny Smith let it fall over his newly cut hair. The NBA fans on Twitter were rolling on the floor, seeing another classic example of Charles Barkley behaving like Charles Barkley.

There may have been a separate agenda with this bit as every one of the 4 guys is pretty much bald. So, they took the guy with luscious locks, put him in a barber’s chair, and cut his man-bun off. Andy was thankfully allowed to keep his beard during the bit which was certainly a sigh of relief for him as getting rid of his man-bun and his beard on the same day would be quite the rough day.
