Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal are a comic duo whenever they get a chance. Their banter, along with Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson, remains the driving force for the Inside the NBA on TNT show for more than a decade. On camera, nothing beats their collective sense of humor. But rarely do we get to know how they are behind the cameras. Now, due to leaked footage, fans got the chance to see how they behave while not live on national television.

The talk centered around O’Neal’s jersey retirement by the Orlando Magic. O’Neal did not appreciate that TNT did not telecast the jersey retirement. Barkley initially tried to convince O’Neal that TNT had a live game going on, and that’s why they could not show the jersey retirement. Then, when Smith tried to support O’Neal, Barkley said the following;

Barkley and Johnson informed Smith that TNT could not air the jersey retirement as they had back-to-back live NBA games to telecast. The fact that Barkley took a shot at O’Neal when he got a chance was normally expected from them on their show. Millions viewed the NFSW bit from the show. It seemed from their use of NSFW words that they could say anything to anyone in any way.

For Shaquille O’Neal, it was a landmark feat as he became the third-ever NBA player to have his jersey retired by three different teams. Even though the ceremony was telecast on NBA TV, O’Neal would have preferred it if TNT showed something.
