NBA analyst Charles Barkley was not at all happy with the Los Angeles Lakers’ performance until now in the 2022-2023 NBA season. Just two games in and Chuck has already called out owner Jeanie Buss and GM Rob Pelinka for not doing an excellent job during the off-season. Charles was talking about the Lakers on the show, ‘Inside the NBA,’ where he made a few comments.
Charles Barkley on the show said, “Last year, and this year, what they’re putting around LeBron is an embarrassment. Last year they put all them geezers around him, and what they got there around him right now, somebody’s not doing their job in LA, period.” The Lakers are once again struggling with the roster and have no shooters to drill three-pointers or even confidently take some long jumpers.
During the match against the Clippers, only Lonnie Walker IV performed well in the offense, and the others to support him were LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Russell Westbrook continued his poor form for the team and went 0-for-11 from the field and 0-for-6 from the three-point line. It was clear that the Lakers lacked support on both ends of the court.

The misery for Los Angeles Lakers seems to be never-ending. As mentioned by former NBA player Charles Barkley before, the team of Lakers is lacking options to support the superstar duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. In the first game, the Lakers looked helpless in front of a formidable side of the Golden State Warriors.
There were a lot of missed passes and the shot conversion was also poor. The players looked puzzled and had no idea where the game was heading. But in the second match of the season, the Lakers showed a bit of improvement. Twice they came back from a double-digit deficit but still ended up on the losing side.
These signs are a concern for the Lakers’ HC Darvin Ham and he has to quickly find solutions to make his team perform better. Charles Barkley also called out the Lakers’ front office for not building a strong roster keeping in mind the roles of Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Still, the team is very capable of going all the way to the NBA Finals but for that to happen they’ll have to improve a lot and get a shooter or two in the team.
