It is hard to imagine a world of NBA without the 1993 MVP, Charles Barkley. From getting into the conversations of the best scorer to becoming one of the greatest ever to never win an NBA ring to leaving fans laughing on the floor, Chuck seems to have done it all and is determined to entertain us all in the coming years. However fans would not be aware how lucky we are to still witness one of the funniest Hall of Famers among us, all thanks to Jayson Williams.

Fans would be aware that Charles Barkley was teammate with Jayson Williams back in their Philadelphia 76ers days. It was only in 1996, when the Sixers went on road to lock horns against the Bulls, did Chuck realise how lucky he is to find Williams alongside him as things took to worst turn possible.

To turn back the pages of history, Charles Barkley and Sixers’ teammate Jayson Williams hit the bar at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Willams describes the night as eventful and here is the story in his own words.

In his own words, “We were in a bar in Chicago, and somebody tried to pull a knife out, somebody did pull a knife out on Charles Barkley when we were in the bar, and I hit him over the head with a mug. The guy got arrested and we went on from there… [we] shouldn’t have been there.

The guy was charged with aggravated assault and was later arrested. The assailant in question, was Chicago based sports writer Christopher Vincent. Interestingly, all the charges were dropped after both Williams and Barkley failed to show up in court. What was the reason for the no show? Well to this date the reason is unknown to all. But the last twist of the story is yet to come.

That being said, the two assaulted (Charles Barkley and Jayson Williams) him first and fabricated the story to get away with him. It was only for the lawyers fired by the Suns’ MVP who were clever enough to get him out of that particular puddle with no harm caused to his reputation.
