“You have to be better than this” Charles Barkley disappointed over Karl Anthony-Towns reaction to back to back losses vs Grizzlies
Karl Anthony Towns
Karl Anthony-Towns delivered another underwhelming night on the court in Game 3 against their first-round opponents. The Memphis Grizzlies have taken over the show despite having a very questioning Game 1 which had fans turning their eyes away from the championship-contending team. Much like their previous matchup, the Wolves gave out a 25-point lead.
The Grizzlies have extended their lead 2-1 as Ja Morant put on a show for the world. He recorded a triple-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Brandon Clarke and Desmond Bane had a combined total of 46 points. None of the Wolves’ players had much of an impact on the game, especially on offense. They shot only 38.8% from the field while barely getting offensive rebounds.
Karl Anthony-Towns fails the Timberwolves once again
Over the last two games, Karl Anthony-Towns made a total of 11 attempts from the field while making 7 shots. Roughly two nights ago, the self-proclaimed best three-point shooting center of all time had just 15 points on 28 minutes of playing time. KAT did not fare well in Game 3 either after scoring 8 points, 5 rebounds, and a single assist on 3-4 shooting (33 minutes of court time)
Losing two back-to-back games would usually be an extremely stressful situation for teams and sometimes teams do not recover that easily. Towns highlighted what the team (as well as himself) plans on doing for the upcoming game on Saturday. His response sent everybody in an immediate state of concern as he said, “Go home, drink some wine and move on to the next day. That’s really simple. Just decompress, decompress.”
Charles Barkley calls Karl Anthony-Towns for his lethargic attitude on back to back losses
Karl Anthony-Towns gave the world a very easy answer that may have seemed like a cool way to answer the media. Towns is been a major factor in Minnesota’s poor performances over the last two matchups. Charles Barkley called out the young player on his response saying that it was, “Embarrassing for Basketball.”
“I can’t believe his answers. Like ‘hey man, next question.’ This is like two of the times in the last week in playoffs situations, you get more fouls than points and rebounds and your answer is ’next question. I’m just gonna drink me some wine.” Sir Charles continued to say, “You were the number 1 pick in the draft. You’re supposed to be a franchise player. You gotta play better, man.”
